Import External Images

One plugin I use pretty frequently for WordPress is Import External Images. It lets you copy and paste content into your site, then with a couple of clicks it will sideload all of the images in that post that are still linked to external sources. I modified the one on WordPress.org to work with Squarespace and GoDaddy’s website builder. Let me know if you find any issues.

  1. Hi Brendan,

I am working on a migration from Squarespace to WordPress that has 2500 posts with at least 4 images per post. The following file path is common (including the ?format=original section at the end of the file. I think I remember you posting in a forum something regarding files that have that end and what to do, but I can’t remember exactly what it was. Your plugin is the first one that recognized all 2500 posts, but it says that “no images were imported, check to see if they still exist.” Is there anyway you can help me figure out the disconnect here? It appears your plugin above is the closest thing I have. Here’s a file example: Also- if you need to charge me for your time, please send an estimate of what it would cost.

    Thanks!
    Angie
